we LOVE onions, and BEFORE we developed a healthy interest
in the opposite sex, we would eat raw onions much as one would eat an apple.

these days we chop-up onions, put them in a zip-lock bag and freeze them.
whenever a recipe calls for onions we scoop out a handful of frozen chopped onions.

{o'course we wash our hands before the scooping.}

so, its a relief to know that onions are fairly safe.
